The chassis 110101 was the first T26 Grand Sport chassis to leave the Talbot-Lago factory in Suresnes, a suburb of Paris, on July 10, 1948.
The original buyer and first owner subsequently commissioned Saoutchik to create this extraordinary low-roof fastback coupé. The result was a vehicle of dramatic and extravagant proportions — an undisputed masterpiece of French coachbuilding. Few automobiles in history have come as close to the idea of the automobile as sculpture as this Grand Sport with Saoutchik coachwork. With its bold aerodynamic profile and uncompromising artistic vision, the Saoutchik coupé is rightly regarded as a highlight of post-war French automotive design.
